Lasem, Rembang — Rumah Merah Heritage Lasem welcomed Mr Subiyanto Putro, S.H., M.Kn., a Notary and Land Deed Official (PPAT) from Semarang, together with his group. Their visit included exploring the heritage setting and viewing hand-drawn batik collections at Oemah Batik Lasem.
The trip offered an opportunity to learn about Lasem’s history and local culture. Through the buildings they visited and the batik they explored, the group became acquainted with some of the town’s distinctive features.
Enjoying the Setting of Rumah Merah Heritage Lasem
At Rumah Merah Heritage Lasem, Mr Subiyanto Putro and his group enjoyed the historic surroundings while learning about Lasem’s cultural history. The architecture and setting formed part of their experience at the property.
Travelling together also offered time to share experiences away from everyday responsibilities. Rumah Merah was one of the stops on their journey to discover Lasem.
Exploring Hand-Drawn Batik at Oemah Batik Lasem
The visit continued at Oemah Batik Lasem, where the group viewed collections of hand-drawn batik. The variety of patterns and colour combinations allowed visitors to examine the character of Lasem batik up close.
Learning about the production process added to the experience. Behind each finished fabric is the work of artisans whose craft requires skill, care, and patience.
Seeing batik in person also makes it possible to notice details that photographs may not fully reveal. Visitors can take a closer look at each piece, from the arrangement of its motifs to the lines drawn with a canting tool.
Sharing Lasem with Visitors from Other Regions
