Lasem, 18 September 2026 — Batalion Tentara TP 888 Satria Sejati held a dragon dance rehearsal at Rumah Merah Heritage Lasem. The session was part of the group’s preparations for the grand procession celebrating the 171st anniversary of Hok Tik Bio Temple in Rembang, scheduled for 19–20 September 2026.
Ahead of the procession, members practised synchronising their movements. Timing and coordination were central to the rehearsal, with each member playing a part in keeping the dragon’s movements flowing smoothly.
Dragon Dance Preparations at Rumah Merah Heritage Lasem
The rehearsal brought a different kind of activity to Rumah Merah Heritage Lasem. Members of TP 888 Satria Sejati used the venue to prepare for their appearance at the celebration in Rembang.
A dragon dance depends on teamwork. Each performer needs to respond to the others so that the dragon moves as a whole. Rehearsing together allows the group to become familiar with the rhythm and improve their coordination.
The session also brought a traditional performing art into the grounds of Rumah Merah, offering a glimpse of the practice and collective effort behind a public performance.
